Are you looking to build your finance career in a supportive and creative environment? Our client, a well-established interior design business, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their growing team full-time. This is a new role offering the chance to make a real impact on the finance function.
What you’ll be doing:
- Processing and managing supplier and customer invoices accurately, matching them to purchase orders and reconciling statements
- Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions, including supplier payments and debt chasing
- Posting transactions to the correct nominal ledger codes and assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity across accounting systems
- Assisting with VAT checks and other basic taxation compliance
- Preparing basic financial reports to support management decisions
- Supporting the Financial Controller with ad-hoc projects, budgeting, and month-end processes
- Collaborating with other departments and communicating effectively with suppliers and customers
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage and spreadsheet tools like Excel or Google Sheets (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Effective communication skills with colleagues, clients, and suppliers
- A proactive and willing-to-learn attitude, especially in a growing team
