Description

We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to ensure a clean, welcoming environment at our client's commercial building. The ideal candidate will have experience in cleaning a large commercial building, be proactive and passionate about hygiene, and able to mentor junior team members on best cleaning practices.

The role involves supporting the Facilities Manager by delivering exceptional cleaning services, maintaining high hygiene standards, and working alongside volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular cleaning tasks: toilets, public areas, offices, floors, bins, furniture, windows, and doors.
  • Maintain and report stock levels, support ordering of cleaning supplies.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues.
  • Collaborate with and support the development of team members.
  • Follow rotas, cleaning schedules, and health & safety guidelines.
  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Assist in setting up areas for classroom activities, including moving furniture.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum 2 years of cleaning experience.
  • Checkable 5-year work history and references.
  • Understanding of health and safety, incident management, and COSHH.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with or supporting vulnerable adults (desirable).

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £23,400 per annum
